Removal of Cu2+, Pb2+ , And Ni 2+ Ions From Simulated Waste Water By Ion Exchange Method On Zeolite And Purolite C105 Resin

The removal of heavy metal ions from wastewater by ion exchange resins ( zeolite and purolite C105), was investigated. adsorption process, which is pH dependent, shows maximum at 6 7 for C105 initial concentrations 50-250 mg/l, with resin dose 0.25-3 g. capacity found to be 9.74, 9.23 9.71 mg/g Cu2+, Pb2+, Ni2+ on respectively, while the 9.64 ,8.73 9.39 respectively. 97-98% Cu2+ 92- 93% Pb2+ zeolite, it 93-94% 96-97% Ni2+, 87-88% C105. obtained sorption affinity sequence Cu 2+> Ni2+> in both resins. Langmuir isotherm expressions were give better fit experimental data compared Freundlich BET models. Kinetic correlated well Lagergren first order kinetic model, indicating reversible reaction an equilibrium being established between liquid solid phase.
